Mera Peak (6,461m/ 21,190 ft) is an exciting, scenically stunning mountain becoming popular among trekkers and climbers as it is the highest trekking peak in Nepal in Khumbu (Everest) Valley.
Situated on the edge of famous Khumbu Region and dominated by Mt. Everest, climbing Mera peak is an opportunity to all the adventure seekers who are physically fit.

        Mera Peak is one of the highest trekking peaks available to climb in Nepal. The summit of this peak offers exceptional panoramic views of Mt. Everest (8,848m/29,029ft), Cho-Oyu (8,201m/26,906ft), Lhotse (8,516m/27,940ft), Makalu (8,463m/27,766ft), Kangchenjunga (8,586m/28,169ft), Nuptse (7,855m/25,770ft) and Chamlang (7,319m/24,013ft). A Mera Peak climbing trip is an opportunity for all the experienced trekkers and amateur climbers who dream and dare to stand on this Himalayan summit with a sense of great achievement. Among the trekking peaks in Nepal, Mera (6476meters) is the highest permitted trekking peak, situated to the south of Everest and dominating the watershed of the thickly wooded and remote Hinku valley. In this Mera peak trek, we stay in the full supported tented camping away from the teahouse crowd where our cook and kitchen staffs prepare all fresh and hygienic food. It is not mandatory that you have prior climbing experience, as this is a non- technical trekking peak climbing in Nepal.
Even though the Mera Peak climbing expedition is technically straightforward, there are some crevasses to maneuver around, and the route can be long and demanding after a fresh snowfall. The climb from Mera La (5415m) on the northern face to the Summit is gradual with an outstanding mountain panorama of the Eastern Nepal Himalayas always in sight. The peaks visible include Mt. Everest (8848m), Cho-Oyu (8201m), Lhotse (8516m), Makalu (8463m), Kangchenjunga (8586m), Nuptse (7855m) and Chamlang (7319m) amongst many others.
We organize a special basic rock climbing course here at Kathmandu and an ice climbing course at Mera Peak base camp instructed by skilled Climbing Sherpas to ensure all of you have necessary climbing skills and confidence to summit successfully.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m/4,428ft)
Upon our arrival at the Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu, we will be greeted by a representative from Himalayan Glacier who will take us to the hotel. After checking in, we may take a rest or visit Himalayan Glacier’s office. In the evening, there will be a welcome dinner in a traditional Nepali restaurant where we will be able to enjoy authentic Nepali cuisine with a brief cultural program. Overnight in Kathmandu. Day 02: Kathmandu (1300m/4264ft): Sightseeing and Preparation
Today after breakfast, we start a guided tour to several of the most historical and spiritual attractions in Kathmandu which are also listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites. We visit the historic Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, the famous ‘Monkey Temple’ Swayambhunath and the Buddhist shrine Bouddhanath, which is also one of the largest stupas in the world. After the tour, we get our equipment checked by our climbing leader, get introduced to fellow participants, and discuss our trip at Himalayan Glacier’s office. Overnight in Kathmandu. Day 03: Fly to Lukla and explore around Lukla (2730m/8954ft)
After breakfast, we will be taken to the domestic terminal of TIA for an early morning flight to Lukla. After flying above the breathtaking green and white mountains, we reach Tenzing-Hillary Airport at Lukla. This is one of the most beautiful air routes in the world culminating in a landing on a hillside surrounded by high mountains. We spend the remainder of the day resting and acclimatizing. We explore the nearby villages or the bustling, small town of Lukla. Overnight in Lukla. Included meals:BLD
Day 04: Trek to Chutanga (3,430 m/11,250 ft): 3-4 hours
Today, as our first day trek is an easy walk which leads eastwards, the path from here is less frequented than the other main trails from Lukla, walk follows through a number of hamlets and wood yards until we reach a thick forest of silver fir, birch, pines and rhododendron trees and bushes on the hill side below Nau Lekh also known as Kalo Himal Ridge, on this portion follow the Sherpa or the group as there are many path leading away from the main trail. There are many small streams with numerous places en route, whole of this area referred to as Chutanga which is a summer pasture. Explore the surroundings of Chutanga. Overnight in Chutanga. Day 05: Trek to Thuli Kharka (4320m/13200ft) via Zwatra la (4600 m/14720 ft): 5-6 hours
We continue our trek the next day from Chutanga, the adventure begins with a steep climb to cross the Kalo Himal Ridge in the Nau Lekh range which separates the Khumbu from the Hinku Valley. A steep uphill climb brings us to a cairned notch in the ridge with a collection of Buddhist prayer flags at 4,450m. This small pass is called the Zatrwa Og, from here the path traverses across a boulder slope, round a corner and climbs once again to the Zatrwa-La at 4,600 m. In bad weather to find the path of our route can be quite misleading, so care should be taken but with fine weather, the views across the Dudh Kosi towards Karyolung and the Lumding Himal are very impressive, as well as the scenery across the rolling foothills of the Hinku Valley. From here less than an hour we reach Thuli Karkha. Overnight at Thuli Kharka. Included meals:BLD
Day 06: Trek to Kothe (3600 m, /11808ft): 5-6 hours
Following breakfast we follow a delightful descending trail across three ridges, before dropping steeply down to the Hinku River and a final uphill to Kothe through lush rhododendron forests on the west side of the Hinku Valley . Rhododendron is the national flower of Nepal and on our journey we get to admire beautiful hills dotted with rhododendrons. Overnight in Kothe. Included meals:BLD
Day 07: Kothe to Thaknak (4,350m/14,270ft): 3-4 hours
We trek along the ridge of the Hinku Khola in the shadow of Mera Peak. We take lunch at Gondishung, the summer herders’ settlement in the west bank of the Hinku Drangka. Beyond Gondishung, we pass a 200 year-old Lungsumgba Gompa where we can find Mera Peak scripted in rock along with its route to reach Mera. A short walk takes us to Thaknak, which is a summer grazing area with primitive lodges and shops. Overnight in Thaknak. Included meals:BLD
Day 08: Thaknak to Khare (5,045m/16,486ft): 2-3 hours
Leaving Thaknak, we follow the lateral moraine of Dig Glacier to Dig Kharka, which offers spectacular views of Charpate Himal. The trail climbs through moraines to the snout of the Hinku Nup and Shar Glaciers, and then climbs more steeply to Khare. From here, we can view the Northern face of Mera Peak which will be an amazing experience. After lunch one can engage in hikes in the surroundings of Khare. Overnight at Khare. Included meals:BLD
Day 09:Rest day in Khare/Acclimatisation
Today the guides will carry out the last minute checking of the gears for the climb, and then arrange if any equipment becomes necessary to rent. Thereafter, we shall provide training on peak climbing techniques and the proper ways of using climbing gears such as the ice axe, climbing boots and crampons, harness, ascender, etc. The training will also include using ropes to go up and down. Although it is not mandatory to have prior training for Mera Peak Base Camp, we strongly believe that some training experience will boost your confidence and your climbing skills to increase the chances of scaling the summit as well as to fully enjoy the experience. Day 10: Khare to Mera Base Camp (5300m/17,384ft): 3-4 hours
Today after breakfast, we walk through a boulder-strewn course on a steep trail to reach Mera Peak Base Camp. Upon reaching the base camp, we rest for a while. If anyone feels the previous training was not sufficient and wants to train more to build confidence to succeed the climb, there can be an additional training on climb provided. Rest of the day would be to rest and prepare for the next day. Overnight at Mera Peak Base Camp. Included meals:BLD
Day 11: Mera Base Camp to High camp (5,780m/18,958ft): 4-5 hours 
We take the route through Mera La pass to reach the Mera High Camp today. Our path is along a rocky trail, which can be hazardous if it has recently snowed, as there are a number of crevasses here. We make our way to the top of the rock band, which is marked by a large cairn. We set up a high camp while enjoying excellent views of Mt. Everest, Makalu, Cho-Oyu, south face of Lhotse, Nuptse, Chamlang and Baruntse. Overnight at Mera High Camp. Included meals:BLD
Day 12: Mera High Camp to Summit (6,461m/21,1907ft) and back to Khare (5045m/16,547ft): 8-9 hours
This is a really big day for us as we will be summiting Mera Peak today. We wake up around 2 in the morning for breakfast. It’s going to be very cold in the beginning but soon we warm up as we continue up the glacier and onto a peculiar ridge. The first rays of the sun hit the big peaks in an amazing red glow. The route is still non-technical as we slowly climb higher into the ever-thinning air. The slope steepens for a section behind the ridge and the summit comes back into view. At the foot of the final steep summit cone, we may attach to a fixed rope depending on the conditions. The summit is only a few meters away. From the summit, we take in amazing views of the mighty Himalayas including Mt. Everest (8,848m), Cho-Oyu (8,210m), Lhotse (8,516m), Makalu (8,463m), Kangchenjunga (8,586m), Nuptse (7,855m), Chamlang (7,319m), Baruntse (7 ,129m) and others. Later, we retrace our steps back to the high camp where we rest for a while before descending to Khare. Overnight in Khare. Included meals:BLD
Day 13: Reserve Day for Contingency
There is no guarantee that we will have favorable weather on our planned day for the summit (day 12). Therefore, this day is set aside as a contingency in case we are unable to summit the Mera on day 12 due to bad weather conditions or any other unanticipated reason. However, if the trip goes smoothly, we do not need this spare day, we can use this day to walk back to Lukla at a leisurely pace. Included meals:BLD
Day 14: Khare to Kothe (3600m/11808ft): 4-5 hours
We trek from Khare to Kothe along the same trail used previously. After reaching Kothe, we celebrate our success by trying out local delicacies and wines. Overnight in Kothe. Included meals:BLD
Day 15: Kothe to Thuli Kharka: 5-6 hours
It is an uphill trek through lush rhododendron forests on the west side of the Hinku Valley to Thuli Kharka. Rhododendron is the national flower of Nepal and on our journey we get to admire beautiful hills dotted with rhododendrons. After reaching Thuli Kharka, we enjoy remarkable views of Mera North, Mera Central and South face. Included meals:BLD
Day 16: Thuli Kharka to Lukla: 6-7 hours
We begin today’s trek by ascending to Zatrwa La Pass. As soon as we cross the pass, we are welcomed by the sight of the beautiful Lukla Valley which is surrounded by Cho Oyu, Kongde Peak, Numbur Himal, Kusum Khangru and other Himalayan peaks. From Zatrwa La Pass we walk all the way down to Chutanga and then straight forward to the Lukla village. In the evening we enjoy dinner in the Himalayas of Nepal with our crew. Overnight in Lukla. Day 17: Fly to Kathmandu (1,350m/4,428ft) 
We catch an early morning flight to Kathmandu after our long mountain journey. After reaching Kathmandu, we can take a rest or do some souvenir shopping. If we want to explore any other areas of Kathmandu, we may do that today. Our guides can help you with both souvenirs shopping or sightseeing. There will be a farewell dinner in the evening to celebrate the climbers’ successful summit of the Island peak. Overnight in Kathmandu. Included meals:BD
Day 18: Final Departure 
Your adventure in Nepal comes to an end today! There is nothing to do but trade emails with your travel companions and organize your photos. A representative from Himalayan Glacier will take you to the airport, approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight. On your way home you’ll have plenty of time to plan your next adventure in the wonderful country of Nepal.

Our guide and his assistants speak reasonable amount of English, good enough to explain you about the places, local culture or any sight that catches your eyes.

Q3. Do you arrange private treks ?
Yes, we do. If you would like to travel independently, or with your friends, families & colleagues you are invited to choose any of the trips at your convenient timeframe for any number of people (minimum 1 & maximum 100 at a time). Cost for private trip is fixed on the basis of group size, trek area, duration and trek style, and is negotiable. We also arrange TREKS FOR SINGLE WOMAN. If none of your friends are wanting to go for this trip you can still be able to make your preferred trip with us. There is absolutely nothing to worry about making it solo trip. We assign local guide, porters etc who you can trust your life with.

Q4. How difficult are the treks ?
Trekking requires lots of willpower, tolerance of harsh conditions and reasonable fitness, good health and physical condition. It is vital that participants with pre-existing medical problems or conditions make these known to the time of booking.

Q5. When is the best season for trek ?
In India We have main two seasons for trekking. The best months are September, October & November during the Autumn season and March, April & May during the spring season are consider as the best seasons for attempting trekking, although we do have some departures during some other months as well because we would like to offer some opportunities for some people who cannot make their holidays during the best months. The best months has been defined due to their nature of best visibility and best weather condition other then.

Q6. What is the general duration of the everyday trek ?
The duration of the trek depends on interests which you have. Generally, your trek can range from 4-7 days to month time or longer periods if you wish. Even the same trek can be of a different duration for different trekkers depending on their wishes and interests on the route. Duration can be Customized.

Q7. What are the sources of drinking water supply during trekking ?
In the trekking areas most lodges serve boiled and filtered water, which is generally safe, we suggest a drop of iodine for safe water. And it will be possible to buy the bottle water at every place so you can easily plan to buy mineral water during the trekking period. If you are in trek with Off road adventure our kitchen staff will make sure to give u boil water throughout the trek.

Q8. What kind of luggage should I bring ?
If you are joining our trekking trips, you should be bringing trekking rucksack- which to be carried by our Sherpa helper and you bring separate day bag (20 to 30 ltrs recommended) where you could put your day required thing along with your valuable document- passport, money etc. We would provide you our trekking duffle bag if you do not have proper trekking bags so it is not a problem.
If you are joining our tours, you can bring suitcase or any other common luggage bag you have. Usual travelling bags are fine.

Q9. What should I pack ?
This is a very frequently asked question but of course it depends entirely on your destination, the season you’re travelling in and the activities you’ll participate in. The most important thing to pack is your sense of humor because this can get you through any situation – including lost luggage. Most of our high altitude treks, you should be having warm clothing, bring your regular clothing stuff for tours. Please see each trip itinerary for the required equipment for the trips.

Q10. What type of food is served during a trek ?
On a CAMPING TREK we provide three tasty, plentiful and nutritious meals daily with a variety of local and western dishes. To start the day, breakfast consists of a choice of porridge, muesli and cereal followed by omelet, fried or scrambled eggs with chapattis or bread. Lunch is generally a selection of salad, cooked vegetable dishes, pasta and traditional breads. Dinner is a hearty 3 course meal – soup, followed by a variety of vegetable, meat, rice and pasta dishes and completed with a simple dessert. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate are also provided at all meals. We use as much fresh produce as possible and special diets are regularly catered for. The leaders are able to maintain very tight controls on health and hygiene in the kitchen with respect to general cleanliness and food preparation and also within the group with respect to personal hygiene. All foods are well cooked and vegetables are treated by potassium permanganate or iodine. Boiled water is served for drinking. Antiseptic soaps and potassium or iodine treated water are provided for washing. Special dietary requirements can always be catered for.

Q11. Do you provide any equipment while trekking ?
On all our Camping treks we provide all the tents, sometimes dome tents, sometimes sturdy A frames and normally people share one tent between two; a foam mattress each; all the cutlery and utensils, cooking pots, stoves; candles/kerosene lantern, tables and stools, kitchen tent, dining tent and toilet tent; all the main meals while trekking but not snacks.

Q12. Is there electricity during the trekking ?
Only few trekking areas like Singalila in West Bengal and trekking routes of Himachal Pradesh, we get electricity. You can charge your camera batteries. However it is likely that the electricity can off in mountain anytime so you should be bringing your personal head lamp or light additionally for the safety.

Q13. How safe travelling alone women with your company ?
We ensure all safety and security for individual woman travelers while with us, we are more responsible for these kinds of issues. So we have trained our guide’s staffs, the way our clients want. We have been organizing private treks, tours to solo women travelers since our establishment, we have trained our guides especially on this regards so do not hesitate to join us. We assure you our great safety during your trip with us. We can also Provide Lady Guide if asked.

Q14. What about security during trekking ?
Security of our clients is the foremost important for us. All our guides and other support crew are carefully chosen for your trips. Our guides hold licenses issued by the Nepal Government. They are very honest and reliable. But we would also advise you to take care of your own personal belongings. If you are on ‘camping trek’ please do not leave your bags unattended at any time for your own safety. Take your main bag inside the tent once you reach campsite. At night, put all bags and belongings in the middle of the tent. Your guide assigns a Sherpa on turn wise basis to guard the campsite throughout the night. You have to take sensible precautions yourself at all times. Never leave your baggage unattended and keep your lodge room locked when you go out.

Q15. What problems can arise on altitude ?
Our itinerary specially tailored considering with a high degree of minimization of AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness). Normally, altitude sickness stars from 3,600 meters/11,808 feet and there is no problem below this standard. During your trip this is a best solution go slowly with body acclimatization. Consider in the higher altitude there is less oxygen in the air. Suppose, crossing high passes more than 5,000 meters/ 16,400 feet, there is 50% less oxygen than at sea level. Your body needs many days to acclimatization during the travel in high Himalaya.

Q16. What are the Preventive facilities of Altitude Illness ?
Altitude illness, AMS is a very unpredictable condition, but all of our guides are very experienced with the symptoms and treatment of AMS. Every time our guides are ready to help you. We do, however, strongly advise people with known heart, lungs or blood diseases to consult their doctor before trekking.

Q17. Are your staffs equipped/trained & insured ?
Yes! Our guides and porters are fully equipped. Actually we are working in a team. We all are boss and we all are workers. Most of our staffs are trained mountaineers who are certified by various mountaineering institute of India, Some have experience of Working in trekking field for more then two decades making our Company a team of Qualified and Experienced Trekkers. Q18. Is tipping included and if not, how much should I budget ?
Tips are appreciated by your support team after the trip. The amount depends on your budget and appreciation of their work. Some trekkers give 10% of the total tour cost as tips.

Q19. Does your company arrange domestic and international flight and other services ?
Yes, we can arrange all kind of flight tickets and services. Additional help will be provided for you to the different activities like river rafting, city guided tour, Paragliding, jungle safari etc according to your interest and requirements.

Q20. Can we change the itinerary ?
Depending on the prevailing situation, you can modify it to some extent after consulting with your guide. However, the date of trek completion should always coincide with the original itinerary. You should keep in mind that this is an adventure trip into the remotest region, where many unforeseen events may contribute to the need for a change in itinerary. In such cases, we or your guide will suggest the best alternative similar to your original itinerary.
