Cycling is one of the most eco friendly methods of travelling around which also doubles up as an adventurous and refreshing means of holidaying and looking around a place. Darjeeling to Lamahatta is our day route for Mountain biking lovers visiting Darjeeling. Towards east of Darjeeling(35 km from Darjeeling, 52 km from Siliguri), through Ghoom-Jorebunglow, one passes through lovely scenic spots and lush green tea gardens. Botanical nurseries and crystal clear rivulets greet you on your way to lamahatta, a place famous for beautiful view of mountains with Best Homestay destination in Darjeeling.
Darjeeling to Lamahatta route takes you through an enchanting zigzag trail including some hairpin turns of the Himalayan roads. Cycling through deep forest with less vehicle movement you get to experience a true Himalayan terrain. Like the ebb and flow of a tide you will sometimes enjoy an uphill ride and sometimes flow downhill. The cold breeze caressing you will be so pure and refreshing that you’ll feel rejuvenated all along.
If that’s not enough in some places you will even be treated to fresh Himalayan spring water, locally known as ‘dhara’, believed to have several minerals beneficial for human body. Since the altitude decreases as u cycle downhill the air gets warmer and the whisper of river Teesta gets louder. As you move on you will leave behind the hustle-bustle of the traffic and celebrate the wilderness.

HOW FIT DO I NEED TO BE?

Our trips vary in difficulty. We have excursions for beginners — easy day tours that wind along flat roads — and more challenging adventures for intermediate and advanced riders. If you tell us your fitness level, we can recommend the right tour for you.

HOW LONG WILL I BE RIDING?

Intermediate riders typically ride for four or more hours a day, several days in a row. Depending on the trip and itinerary, you may be spending up to seven hours on your bike. We’ll make sure you know exactly what your trip entails before you depart.

WHAT IF OUR GROUP’S ABILITIES ARE DIFFERENT?

Usually there are slower and faster riders in each group. From our experience, the differences work themselves out: some riders relax and stop for more rests while others skip rides or rely on vehicle support. Our guides are trained to handle these situations with professionalism and respect.

HOW TECHNICAL ARE THE TRAILS?

This depends on the destination and type of your trip. If you have questions about your route, visit the trip page or contact us directly. It is our aim to lead fun and exciting trips, not to scare our clients!

DO I NEED TO STICK TO A SET ITINERARY?

No. Itineraries can be adjusted to suit your interests and skill level. We understand every rider is different, so we design our trips to cater to the specific needs of a group.

WHAT KIND OF BIKE DO I NEED?

We have a selection of bikes at our shop we provide to guests. If you have a downhill, all-mountain or cross-country bike you’d like to bring from home, check with us to make sure your bike matches the terrain.

CAN I BRING MY BIKE ON THE PLANE?

Yes, but check with your airlines before you book your trip! Many airlines charge additional fees for bikes.

CAN I RENT A MOUNTAIN BIKE?

We offer limited high performance bike rentals. Ask us what is available for your holiday

WHO ARE YOUR GUIDES?

We know how important good leaders are for the enjoyment and success of your trip. Guides are the link to new cultures, fantastic experiences and unforgettable riding. It is our aim that you learn more from our guides than any guidebook. With expertise, enthusiasm and cultural understanding, our guides will show you a safe, unique side of Darjeeling. On most of our trips, a main guide will lead the pack, and another will follow as the “tail gunner.”

CAN YOU PROVIDE ME WITH A REFERENCE?

We are happy to provide contact information of people who have participated in our tours.

DO I NEED TO TIP MY GUIDE?

Tipping is not necessary; however, if you feel your guide has served you well, a small amount can help communicate your appreciation.
