Singalila ridge trek is one of the most admired as well as fascinating treks in India. this trek offers breath-taking views of the Himalayan range from Darjeeling hills where tea plantations stretch as far as the eye can see, to Sikkim. On this breathtaking Singalila ridge Trek you will see Buddhist Monasteries, hillsides covered with wildflowers, forests of thick oak, bamboo, magnolia and rhododendrons until you reach Sandakphu, at 3636m the highest point in West Bengal. From here you can see four of the five highest peaks in the world – Everest, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse and Makalu. An unforgettable trekking experience.

During Singalila ridge trek as you descend the temperatures become noticeably warmer again, and the landscapes more rural in aspect. RouteSandakphu to Phalut
Day 1 – Darjeeling – Tumling (3070mt/10072ft) 5/6Hrs
Our trek starts with a 30 kms Drive till Maneybhanjyang, A small town Situated in Middle of Rimbik and Darjeeling. Our trek starts From Maneybhanjyang with gradual steep trial covered with Rhododendrons till Half Way. A hour Trek and we reach border of Nepal and India and Following Jeep Road We Reach Tumling. Overnight in Tumling.
Day 2 – Tumling – Kalapokhari (3186 mt / 10453ft) 4/5hrs
Rise early today for sunrise view. After breakfast descend towards Tumling, a Gurung village and then ascent for about two kilometers towards the viewpoint. After spending some time here, head on the trail that drops to Gairibas, 2,800 m., your lunch spot. There is a forest bungalow in this village. After lunch the trail ascends all the way through dwarf rhododendron forest to Kala pokhari, meaning black lake. This route is also rich in Primulae species, Inpatients falcifer, Owl-eyed Impatiens, Sorbus, Pyrus, Enkaithus and Roscoea alpina. Your camp will be set beside the dark crystaline waters of Kalo Pokhari lake shimmering in the breeze and surrounded by alpine trees with the mountains looming across the horizon.
Day 3 – Kalapokhari – Sandakphu (3636mt / 11929ft) 3/4hrs
Today’s trail ascends to Sandakphu through magnolia, blue pine and rhododendron forest. Sandakphu is the highest point in this trek and the reward for all the trudging culminates in a magnificent panorama of the eastern Himalayas of Nepal and Sikkim, from Everest in the east all the way to to Jhomolhari in Bhutan. After lunch we take an excursion around Sandakphu, which is a veritable botanists’ paradise. Apart from the different varieties of rhododendrons, plants like Streptous simplex, Trilidium govanianum, Primula rotundifolia, Fritillaria cirrhosa, Llydia and other flora like Anemone and Iris can be found here.
Day 4 – Sandakphu – Phalut (3500mt/11482ft) 5/6hrs
An easy day’s walk along the ridge through the forest of rhododendron, magnolia, chestnut, oak and silver fir to your lunch spot at Sabargram, 3536 m. All along, the imposing Himalayas loom large on the western horizon. After lunch, it is a short flat walk on the trail barring a gradual ascent finally before arriving at Phalut, a tri-junction point between Nepal, Sikkim and the Darjeeling District. Other than the different varieties of rhododendrons, you will also come across varieties of Meconopsis, Primulae, Orchids, Parnassia etc.Phalut – situated at the altitude of 3600 mtr, is the only place in the world from where one can see four of the world’s highest peak so close.
Day 5 – Phalut – Gorkhey(2560mt/8398ft) 4/5hrs
Trek route from Phalut  to Gorkhey which is approx 15 km has it’s own beauty. Starting is a rocky trail till the last SSB o-p of Singalila national park, then the forest trail of mud and rock starts which is very fascinating for the trekkers.  The forest is dense with both alpine and low altitude vegetation-but the bamboo forest there makes it more beautiful. Rhododendron in the forest makes it very scenic during spring, and the fallen leaves gives wonderful feeling of autumn . Being so quiet, it is a possible place to encounter some of the very unique birds, pheasant, and small mammals. After the Trek for almost 4 and half  hour  the surprisingly sudden view of the Village “Gorkhey”, makes the trekkers forget all their tiredness.
Day 6 – Gorkhey – Sepi- Darjeeling
Start early from Gorkhey . Walking through Sammamden and Rammam villages, we will reach Sepi at around 12 PM.After lunch Drive to Darjeeling (4hrs).Trip ends Service Ends

Yes, we do. If you would like to travel independently, or with your friends, families & colleagues you are invited to choose any of the trips at your convenient time frame for any number of people (minimum 1 & maximum 100 at a time). Cost for private trip is fixed on the basis of group size, trek area, duration and trek style, and is negotiable. We also arrange TREKS FOR SINGLE WOMAN. If none of your friends are wanting to go for this trip you can still be able to make your preferred trip with us. There is absolutely nothing to worry about making it solo trip. We assign local guide, porters etc who you can trust your life with.

Q4. How difficult are the treks ?
Trekking requires lots of willpower, tolerance of harsh conditions and reasonable fitness, good health and physical condition. It is vital that participants with pre-existing medical problems or conditions make these known to the time of booking.

Q5. When is the best season for sandakphu trek ?
In India We have main two seasons for trekking. The best months are September, October & November during the Autumn season and March, April & May during the spring season are consider as the best seasons for attempting trekking, although we do have some departures during some other months as well because we would like to offer some opportunities for some people who cannot make their holidays during the best months. The best months has been defined due to their nature of best visibility and best weather condition other then.

The duration of the trek depends on interests which you have. Generally, your trek can range from 4-7 days to month time or longer periods if you wish. Even the same trek can be of a different duration for different trekkers depending on their wishes and interests on the route. Duration can be Customized.

Q7. What are the sources of drinking water supply during sandakphu trek ?
In the trekking areas most lodges serve boiled and filtered water, which is generally safe, we suggest a drop of iodine for safe water. And it will be possible to buy the bottle water at every place so you can easily plan to buy mineral water during the trekking period. If you are in camping sandakphu trek with Off road adventure our kitchen staff will make sure to give u boil water throughout the trek.

Q8. What kind of luggage should I bring for sandakphu trek?
If you are joining our trekking trips, you should be bringing trekking rucksack- which to be carried by our Sherpa helper and you bring separate day bag (20 to 30 ltrs recommended) where you could put your day required thing along with your valuable document- passport, money etc. We would provide you our trekking duffle bag if you do not have proper trekking bags so it is not a problem.
If you are joining our tours, you can bring suitcase or any other common luggage bag you have. Usual travelling bags are fine.

Q9. What should I pack for sandakphu trek?
This is a very frequently asked question but of course it depends entirely on your destination, the season you’re travelling in and the activities you’ll participate in. The most important thing to pack is your sense of humor because this can get you through any situation – including lost luggage. Q14. What about security during trekking ?
Security of our clients is the foremost important for us. All our guides and other support crew are carefully chosen for your trips. Our guides hold licenses issued by the India Government. They are very honest and reliable. But we would also advise you to take care of your own personal belongings. If you are on ‘camping trek’ please do not leave your bags unattended at any time for your own safety. Take your main bag inside the tent once you reach campsite. At night, put all bags and belongings in the middle of the tent. Your guide assigns a Sherpa on turn wise basis to guard the campsite throughout the night. You have to take sensible precautions yourself at all times. Never leave your baggage unattended and keep your lodge room locked when you go out.

Q15. What problems can arise on altitude ?
Our itinerary specially tailored considering with a high degree of minimization of AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness). Normally, altitude sickness stars from 3,600 meters/11,808 feet and there is no problem below this standard. During your trip this is a best solution go slowly with body acclimatization. Consider in the higher altitude there is less oxygen in the air. Suppose, crossing high passes more than 5,000 meters/ 16,400 feet, there is 50% less oxygen than at sea level. Your body needs many days to acclimatization during the travel in high Himalaya.

Q16. What are the Preventive facilities of Altitude Illness ?
Altitude illness, AMS is a very unpredictable condition, but all of our guides are very experienced with the symptoms and treatment of AMS. Every time our guides are ready to help you. We do, however, strongly advise people with known heart, lungs or blood diseases to consult their doctor before trekking.

Q17. Are your staffs equipped/trained & insured ?
Yes! Our guides and porters are fully equipped. Actually we are working in a team. We all are boss and we all are workers. Q18. Is tipping included and if not, how much should I budget ?
Tips are appreciated by your support team after the trip. The amount depends on your budget and appreciation of their work. Some trekkers give 10% of the total tour cost as tips.
