Day 1 - Arrival at Leh

Arriving in Leh, check-in into a hotel of your choice and relax for the day with an overnight stay in the hotel. Also, since it is extremely important to get acclimatised to the climate change, this day will prove to be a helpful day for you.

Day 2 - Drive from Leh to Lamayuru (3 Hours by Road), Trek from Lamayuru to Wanla 1 Hour Trek, Lamayuru Monastery, Prinkti La Pass

The first day of your Lamayuru to Chilling trek is filled with a lot of activities. You will proceed to the small and cosy village of Lamayuru that is a3 hours’ drive from Leh. Here, you can visit a local monastery that is one of the oldest and most celebrated. After the religious visit, set forth on a small trek that will lead you to Wanla. During this 1 hour trek, you will also hike through the Prinkti La Pass (3,750m); overnight camping at Wanla.

Day 3 - Trek from Wanla to Hinju (3,720m)

While trekking visit the sleepy and charming Ladakhi villages! A 5 hour picturesque walk will take you to Hinju, a village that is made up of a 1-km stretch of barley fields. You will be staying overnight at camps put up in an open meadow outside this village; rest of the day is for you to enjoy and experience life in the mountains.

Day 4 - Trek from Hinju to Kongskil La (4,950m) – Sumda Doska (4,430m)

Depart Hinju and ascend to Kongskil La Pass. Enjoy enchanting views of the fascinating Stok and Karakoram ranges from the Kongskil ridge. The second part of your trek will be a little challenging with the trail being scree covered. Take care to meander carefully and enjoy a trek that is thrilling and exciting. Your destination today will be Sumda Doska that is at an altitude of 4,430m; overnight at camps.

Day 5 - Trek from Sumda Doska to Dung Dung Chan La Base (4,430m)

Get set for varied trails while trekking! After crossing a few rivers, you will reach another warm village called Sumdo Chenmo. Witness life in this quaint village before you set forth on your trail again. Later, ascend your way up to the base of the Dung Dung Chan La. As you trek, be amazed with some exotic mountainous flora like the edelweiss; Dung Dung Chan La base will be the camping ground for the day.

Day 6 - Trek from Base of Dung Dung Chan La to Chilling (3,550m), Drive from Chilling to Leh

Post breakfast in the camp, head up to the scenic Dung Dung Chan La Pass. After spending a while here, you will trek on a simple ascent before you start making your way down. A 5 hour trek will bring you to Chilling that is at an altitude of 3,550m. From here, you will be driven to Leh. With your drop in Leh, this quintessential Lamayuru trek will come to an end.


  • All meals during the trek (Day 1 lunch to Day 6 lunch). Regular Indian style nutritious vegetarian food during the trek (including occasional eggs), breakfast packed/hot lunch (depending upon the time you reach a campsite), snacks, dinner along with coffee/tea/soup.
  • Excellent Trekking Guide, who will be a local to this particular area and has profound knowledge of the trekking trails around.
  • Specialized Cook, Support staff, Porters/Packed Animals for carrying the central logistics of the trek.
  • Stay in tents (3 persons dome or ridge shaped tents) on sharing basis during the trek.
  • Camping equipment like Sleeping bag, Carry mattress, Gaiters, Micro spikes/Crampon. (Bring your own sleeping if you have a high altitude specific personal Sleeping Bag. This is always better for hygienic reasons.)
  • Kitchen tent, dinning tent and toilet tent as required during the trek.
  • All permit fee, camping charges, forest levy required for the trek inside Kanchendzongha National Park.
  • Basic Medical & First Aid kit.
  • Any tip/gratuity to the Off Road supports staff.
  • Anything is is NOT mentioned in the “Inclusions” or personal in nature.
  • Additional accommodation and food expenses if trek gets delayed due to any circumstances. Personal expenses (phone calls, laundry, bar bills, battery recharge, extra porters, bottle or boiled water, shower, etc.)
  • Cancellation, health or any other reason.
  • Health Insurance, Personal Insurance and other travel insurance.
  • Expenses for evacuation and rescue operations due to natural calamity, mishaps, injury or any health problem.
  • Alcohol , Cigarette and other personal expenses
